Today, half in anticipation and half in nerves, I sat down with the CEO of the freelance project to talk contract terms — and we ended up signing. I’m so grateful. The whole thing came out of nowhere; I’d been contacted almost by chance, and going into the meeting I gave it everything I had, even putting together extra analysis materials on top of what was asked. I think that’s what tipped things in my favor. Either way, this means I can cover the funds I needed, and I’m genuinely relieved and thankful.

I happened to catch the SK Hynix stock price popping up in the news today — what on earth, up another +10%? A little twinge of envy. But then I thought, honestly, what does someone else’s good fortune actually have to do with how I feel? When I think about the money my quant work is set to earn over a year, when I think about my system — that kind of move really is just small change and a small thrill, isn’t it? And so gratefully, my strategies have been running well for a month straight now. I’m deeply thankful to the version of me who’s been holding on and pushing through all this time.
