Being small isn't a weakness — right now, it's your greatest strength

Being small isn’t a weakness.

In this very moment, with AI advancing the way it is, it’s your greatest strength.

This is something only people who have tried to build a company at an AI inflection point can really understand.

You don’t truly get it until you’ve felt the freeze on your own skin.

Looking back

Once, I walked away from a big corporate job and co-founded an AI startup as its CTO.

For the year or two I spent there, I was shipping a new MVP roughly every seven days, testing each hypothesis,

pivoting dozens of times,

and in the end, we didn’t make it.

Still, that was right when AI LLMs were just being born,

and even though my title was CTO, how on earth was I single-handedly building the server, the web app, the AI model, the database, the deployment, the operations — all of it?

The lessons I picked up from founding a startup in those early days were enormous.

If this is the kind of productivity I’m capable of, maybe I should be starting several companies of my own.

They might look like toy projects from the outside, but at the end of the day, if I treat them as a real ‘business,’ isn’t that all that matters?

So what? Right now I’m running several businesses, and I’m the boss, hehe — feeling greaaat!
