You See It That Way, So You Start to Believe It.

 

Some essay on Brunch said the three things that protect you are “writing,” “exercise,” and “reading.”

But things like that feel too much like a bias to me.

 

Of course on Brunch, where people who write a lot gather, the sample is going to be full of people like that.

That doesn’t mean most people actually love “running” or “reading.”

 

In the same way, the people who gained wealth through investing talk about it far more than the people who lost it — so it just looks like there are more of them.

Just as there has to be someone losing money for someone else to gain it.

 

And letting that make me think I’m [falling behind] is nothing more than an unnecessary trick of the brain.
